Description
The Atlas 523 is an HO Code 83 Snap Track 1.5-inch straight filler section, four-pack — the shortest standard adjuster in the Code 83 family. When the 3-inch piece (Atlas 522) is too long and you're staring at a half-inch of mainline gap, this is the section that lands the geometry.
The math. Atlas Code 83 Snap Track uses a 9-inch base length, with successively shorter fillers at 6" (Atlas 521), 3" (Atlas 522), 2" (Atlas 525), and 1.5" (this one). With those five lengths you can build any total length to within 0.5" without cutting. The 1.5-inch is also the right piece to slip on the trailing end of a turnout to bring the diverging route back to a clean even-inch grid.
Code 83 nickel-silver rail on brown molded ties — the prototypical-fine look that has become the modern Atlas standard. Each section ships pre-fitted with rail joiners, drops straight into existing Code 83 Snap Track or Custom Line layouts, and carries centerline nail holes for Atlas #2540 track nails.
