Description
The Atlas 50006771 is an N scale 42-foot coil steel car in Grand Trunk Western paint (CN's U.S. Midwest subsidiary), road number GTW #187526 — the fourth car in the Atlas GTW 187xxx coil-car run, completing a four-car block when run with #187411 / #187441 / #187482 from the previous release.
Prototype. GTW's 187000-series 42-foot Trinity-built coil steel cars haul steel coils on edge in a recessed center trough, with removable hooded panels protecting the load. Coil cars travel in dedicated blocks between Ontario steel producers (Stelco, Dofasco, Algoma) and U.S. Midwest auto plants (Detroit, Lordstown, Toledo) — four to six cars per block is typical, so a run of four matched road numbers makes a complete prototypical movement.
Atlas build. Crisp painting and lettering, see-through walks, removable hood reveals interior floor detail, body-mounted AccuMate® couplers, 100-ton roller-bearing trucks.
