Description
The Atlas 50006124 is a 3-car set of N scale 33-foot 2-bay offset-side hopper cars in Canadian Pacific (CP) reporting marks — three different road numbers ready to drop into a coal or aggregate consist. Better per-car pricing than buying singles.
Prototype
The 33-foot offset-side twin hopper was built in large numbers from the 1930s onward for coal-haul service. CP rostered thousands in the 350,000–380,000 number series to move Alberta and BC coal, aggregates, sand, and ballast (MOW). Real coal trains ran 60–100 cars deep — the 3-pack is a fast way to build that scale in N.
