The Atlas 488 is an HO scale True-Track Code 83 starter set — a pre-curated assortment of Atlas's pre-ballasted sectional track sufficient to lay out a starter oval on the dining-room table or a 4×8 plywood sheet. True-Track features Code 83 nickel-silver rail mounted on simulated brown wood ties with a one-piece molded gray ballast roadbed; sections snap together — no separate cork, foam, or ballasting required.
