Description
Track bumpers stop runaway equipment at the end of a stub track — they're the model-railroad equivalent of the prototype's heavy-duty hydraulic bumping post at the end of a yard track or industrial spur. Without them, a runaway car (or pushed cut) goes off the end of the rails.
The Atlas #470 is a two-pack of track bumpers for HO True-Track Code 83 sections. Each bumper snaps onto the end of any True-Track Code 83 section and provides a positive stop styled like a prototype hydraulic post.
How to use
- Snap the bumper onto the open end of any Atlas True-Track Code 83 section — no track-cutting or modification required.
- Use at the end of yard stub tracks, industrial spurs, locomotive servicing tracks, and storage / staging tracks.
- Two pack typically covers one small yard or a couple of industries.
- For plain (non-True-Track) Code 83 layouts, use Atlas's plain-tie bumper equivalents.
