Description
True-Track is Atlas's HO Code 83 sectional track system with integrated gray plastic roadbed molded to look like real ballast — lay it directly on plywood, foam, or even carpet and your trains run quietly with prototype proportions. The roadbed snaps the track sections together with positive locking tabs; no cork or foam roadbed is needed underneath.
The Atlas #452 is a four-pack of 3-inch (7.6 cm) straight True-Track Code 83 sections — the standard short straight for filling in gaps and fine-tuning section lengths in a True-Track layout. Each section features Code 83 nickel-silver rail on realistic brown ties.
How to use
- Connect to other Atlas True-Track Code 83 sections via the integrated snap-lock roadbed joiners.
- For transitions to plain (non-roadbed) Atlas Code 83 sectional or flex track, use Atlas #498 transition track.
- Pin or glue to plywood/foam with track nails or latex caulk; ballast around the edges with Woodland Scenics Fine Ballast for a fully sceniced look.
- Compatible with all Atlas True-Track turnouts and accessories.
- Pair with #453 (1.5" straight), #454 (2" straight), and #460 (18" curve) to build out any True-Track layout plan.
