Fairbanks-Morse's H15-44 of 1947 wrapped the builder's distinctive opposed-piston diesel — proven in wartime submarines — in a 1,500-hp road-switcher carbody styled by famed industrial designer Raymond Loewy, giving the type its handsome raised-shoulder profile. Kansas City Southern dressed its units in the road's stunning Southern Belle-inspired red, yellow and black; this model depicts KCS #40 in the 'Belle' scheme.
The Atlas Master Series N scale H15-44 pairs crisp, road-specific tooling with a smooth dual-flywheel mechanism. This Gold edition arrives with a factory-fitted ESU LokSound decoder for rich, prototype-specific opposed-piston sound on DCC and DC layouts.
- Atlas Master Series N scale tooling
