ALCo's Century 628 was the flagship of the mid-1960s horsepower race: a 2,750-hp six-axle road switcher powered by the 16-cylinder 251C diesel, and briefly the most powerful production locomotive money could buy when it debuted in 1963. Mexico's Chihuahua al Pacífico put its big Centuries to work on the spectacular Copper Canyon route between Chihuahua and the Pacific at Topolobampo; this model depicts ChP #902.
The Atlas Master Series N scale C-628 pairs crisp, road-specific tooling with a smooth dual-flywheel mechanism. This Silver edition runs on DC and is DCC-ready and sound-ready with a factory-installed speaker, so you can drop in the decoder of your choice.
- Atlas Master Series N scale tooling
