Description
The ALCO S-2 was a 1,000 hp four-axle yard switcher with ALCO's 539T turbocharged prime mover, built 1940-50. CP rostered S-2s in terminal and yard work at Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg, and other division points; many ran into the 1970s. This is Atlas's N scale S-2 in CP's switcher livery as road number #7045, companion to CP #7020 (Atlas 40005691).
Features: detailed plastic body, realistic CP block-lettered paint, fine-scale handrails, separately-applied piping/cut levers/air hoses, a heavy die-cast chassis, a powerful five-pole motor with dual flywheels, and directional LED lighting (cab rear headlight included). DCC-ready via NMRA 6-pin (NEM 651) socket.
