Description
The Atlas 40005075 is an N scale ALCO FB-1 cabless booster unit in classic Canadian Pacific (CP) tuscan-red and gray fast-freight livery, road number #4405, DC ready-to-run (DCC-ready).
Prototype
The ALCO FB-1 was the cabless booster matching the FA-1 cab unit, with the same carbody and 1,500 hp ALCO 244 prime mover but no operator cab. CP took 12 FB-1s (#4404–4415) from Montreal Locomotive Works in 1949 to ride mid-consist in A-B-A and A-B-B-A transcontinental fast-freight lashups.
