Description
The Atlas 40005056 is an N scale ALCO FA-1 cab unit in classic Canadian Pacific (CP) tuscan-red and gray fast-freight livery, road number #4025, DC ready-to-run (DCC-ready 6-pin).
Prototype
The ALCO FA-1 was a 1,500 hp B-B 'covered wagon' freight cab unit built 1946–1950. CP took 30 FA-1s (#4015–4044) from Montreal Locomotive Works starting 1949, leading transcontinental fast-freight A-B-A and A-B-B-A lashups in tuscan red with the wide gray window band. The series was retired in the mid-1960s.
