Description
The EMD GP38-2 was the workhorse four-axle, 2,000 hp non-turbocharged road switcher that EMD built from 1972 through 1986 — more than 2,200 units delivered, making it one of the most successful diesel locomotives in North American history. Canadian Pacific rostered its GP38-2s in branchline freight, transfer, and local service across Canada from the late 1970s onward; many remain in service today on CP and successor short lines.
This is Atlas's Master Series N scale model of the Phase II carbody finished in CP's classic action red livery as road number #4421.
