Description

A #4 turnout has a frog angle of approximately 14° (tan⁻¹ 1/4) — a sharp divergent route ideal for yard ladders, industrial spurs, and tight crossovers. The Atlas #392 is the Right Hand companion to #391; together they form the standard pair for symmetric yard ladders and double-track crossovers.

Features include nickel silver Code 100 rail on black ties matched to other Atlas Code 100 trackage, a cast-metal frog with a power lug for hassle-free frog powering, and cast-metal turnout points. Can be installed as either remote or manual switching with Atlas switch machines (sold separately).

How to use

  • Connect to any HO Code 100 track using Atlas #170 rail joiners.
  • Remote: Atlas #65 above-table or #66 under-table machine; Peco PL-10 or Tortoise as alternatives.
  • For DCC frog powering, wire the power lug to a frog juicer or DPDT switch on the points.
  • Pair with #391 (#4 LH) for symmetric ladders; pair with #390 (Wye) for a three-way junction at the throat of a yard.
  • For main-line through-routes use the #6 versions — #393 (LH) and #394 (RH).
