Description
The Atlas #32552 is the official cleaning-head replacement set for the Atlas N-scale Track Cleaning Car. Replace tired pads when they get black with rail oxide and graphite — usually every 6-12 hours of running on a typical layout — to keep the car pulling its weight on the consist.
How to use
- Pop the bottom cover off your Atlas N Track Cleaning Car, lift out the old pad assembly, and drop the fresh head in place.
- Apply a few drops of Atlas Conducta-Lube, Wahl Clipper Oil, or alcohol to the pad — wet, not dripping — before each run.
- Run the cleaning car at the head or tail of a normal consist; the pad scrubs rails as the train moves.
- Pair with the replacement #32553 Cleaning Disc set if the car uses the rotating-disc head.
- Re-pad every 6-12 running hours, or sooner if you see runs of oxide / graphite buildup on the pads.
