Description
Atlas #316 is a 50-foot reel of 20 AWG stranded layout wire in red — the standard "hot" or "inside rail" color for the second leg of a model-railroad track bus. Use with black (#315) for a consistent two-color bus on any scale.
General-purpose layout wire — works on any scale, any layout type (DC, DCC, AC accessory). Not DCC-specific despite the store category tag.
How to use
- Red is the conventional color for the second leg of the track bus, paired with black (#315).
- 20 AWG handles common DCC booster currents (5-10 A) on home layouts with plenty of headroom.
- Strip, suitcase-connect, or solder to track feeders — stranded conductor flexes easily.
- 50 ft reel — pair with #315 for a balanced two-color bus on a medium layout.
- Also useful for AC accessory wiring runs that need to be visually distinct from track bus.
