Description
The Atlas #2848 is an N-scale building kit for Maywood Station, a faithful replica of the actual 1872-built board-and-batten railroad station that still stands today in Maywood, New Jersey — a Carpenter-Gothic survivor on what was once the New York, Susquehanna & Western. Atlas reproduces it down to the spindled roof finials, separate "hairpin"-style platform fence, and individually-applied benches and (non-operating) under-eave lamps.
This is the tan body with brown trim color variant. Molded in historically appropriate colors with separate window glazing and a brick-pattern platform base. Decals are included so you can letter the station with any name — Maywood, your own freelance town, or a real station you're modeling.
How to use
- Solvent-cement assembly with standard plastic cement (not included).
- Finished footprint with base: ~5" × 2.25".
- Optional parts include the separate hairpin-style fence and a freight-platform railing — these represent how the prototype Maywood Station appears today.
- Apply the included decals to choose between Maywood, a freelance name, or a real railroad station.
- Pair with Atlas #2841 N Passenger Station to vary the architecture along a line, and add the #2850 hairpin fence and #2801 telephone poles for surrounding street detail.
