Description
The Atlas #2843 is an N-scale 3-stall brick roundhouse building kit based on a prototypical structure of the kind that housed and serviced steam locomotives between runs across every major North American division point. The brick walls, pitched roof bays, and arched stall doors evoke a working engine terminal from the late steam era — the same building that's been Atlas's HO-scale Item #709 for decades, now scaled down to N.
Molded in appropriate brick and trim colors with separate window glazing. Three stalls per kit, with the design intentionally modular so two or more kits can be joined for a 6-, 9-, or 12-stall facility.
How to use
- Solvent-cement assembly with standard plastic cement (not included).
- Designed to align with the stall spacing of the Atlas #2790 N Turntable (15° per stall); pair them for an instant engine terminal.
- Add the Atlas #2791 Motor Drive Unit for a powered turntable approach.
- Combine multiple kits side-by-side for larger roundhouses (6, 9, 12 stalls).
- Footprint: 10-3/8" long × 11" deepest section × 3" tall — leave clearance for the turntable pit and approach tracks.
- Weather the brick with washes and pan pastels; back-light interior with warm white LEDs for a working scene.
