Description
The manually-thrown version of the Atlas N Code 80 Wye turnout — same geometry as the #2708 (both routes diverging equally, no straight through route), but with the points thrown by a sliding lever on the housing instead of a powered switch machine.
Nickel-silver Code 80 rail on moulded black ties with wood-grain detail. Used in turnaround triangles, industrial spur forks, and tight yard ladders where you want a wye geometry but don't need remote operation. The manual throw lever pushes the points by hand from beside the track. Like the #2706/#2707, this can be upgraded to remote operation later by adding a switch machine (use a standalone solenoid that mounts to the throw bar).
How to use
- Throw by hand using the sliding lever on the housing — no power required.
- Connect track rails with Atlas Code 80 rail joiners (#2535).
- Best for: turnaround wyes, industrial fork spurs, tight branch-line yards.
- Pair with #2708 (Wye remote) for the same geometry with electric throw.
- Use case: a wye turnout in a hidden engine-service area where you reach in by hand to throw it.
