Description
The Atlas #2591 is the right-hand companion to the #2590 — an AC twin-coil remote switch machine for Atlas N Standard-Line right-hand turnouts. (Note: this is NOT a DCC accessory in itself despite the product category; it's a conventional AC twin-coil solenoid driven by an accessory-tap pulse. It can be controlled by a DCC accessory decoder like the Digitrax DS64.)
Wire the three leads — common plus two directional — to an Atlas #56 Controller or any momentary AC pulse source (12-16V from accessory tap). Bolts to the tie strip of any Atlas N Standard-Line right-hand turnout and pulls the points electrically.
How to use
- Power from 12-16V AC accessory tap — never continuous DC (coils will burn out).
- Use only momentary push-button control — Atlas #56 controller standard, or build your own with SPST momentary buttons.
- Wire common to one terminal of the controller, the two directional leads to throw/reverse buttons.
- Pair with #2590 for the left-hand version on facing-point yard ladders.
- Can be driven by DCC accessory decoders (Digitrax DS64, NCE Switch-It) for digital layout control.
