Description
The silver/unpainted variant of Atlas's classic through-truss bridge kit — same 10" (254 mm) span as the black #2570 but moulded in light silver styrene, ready for your own paint scheme. Many real prototypes wear a galvanized or aluminum-paint finish; others were painted railroad colors over silver primer. The unpainted moulding gives you the most flexibility.
Sold as a kit — assemble per instructions, with plastic cement recommended for permanent joints. Code 80 rail is integrated into the deck. Pair with the black variant (#2570) on a parallel track for variety. The kit takes paint well — primer first, then any Tamiya/Vallejo acrylic or Floquil-equivalent enamel for the final color.
How to use
- Assemble the truss sides to the deck per instructions; plastic cement for permanent strength.
- Prime in grey or rust before painting your chosen color — silver styrene shows through thin coats.
- Connect to any Atlas N Code 80 track with slip-on rail joiners (#2535).
- Mount on top of #2541 piers (5" centers — spans 2 pier spacings).
- Pair with #2570 (pre-painted black) on parallel track for a double-track scene with two railroads in different colors.
