Description
Multi-span bridge installations need consistent pier heights, and Atlas's #2543 add-on set lets you extend any Atlas N scale bridge layout by three matching 1-11/16" (43 mm) tall piers. The height matches the tallest piers in the master #2541 pier set, so you can build longer scenes — viaducts, river crossings, valley spans — without mixing parts from different ranges.
Each pack contains three identical piers. Cast in styrene with crisp masonry/concrete detail, they snap or glue to a layout base and accept any Atlas N Code 80 bridge: Warren truss (#2546), Deck truss (#2547), Plate Girder (#2548), or the 10" Through Truss (#2570/#2571). Pier spacing of 5" between centers gives an authentic-looking span/pier ratio.
How to use
- Use as add-on piers to extend a layout that already uses the #2541 12-pier graduated set + #2542 girder beam.
- Space piers 5" apart center-to-center to match the standard 5" bridge sections (#2546/#2547/#2548).
- Combine three piers + one 10" Through Truss (#2570 or #2571) for a single-span river crossing scene.
- Glue with plastic cement or attach with 5-minute epoxy to a foam or plywood base before scenicking around them.
- Paint with a wash of grey/black for weathered concrete, or leave moulded color for as-shipped grey concrete look.
