Description
Curved turnouts let you place a switch directly on a curved main line — a luxury normally reserved for hand-laid track. The Atlas Code 55 #2059 fits in the middle of a curve with a 21.25" (540 mm) outer radius and 15" (381 mm) inner radius, ideal for tight N-scale yard throats, branchline junctions, or any scene where space is tight but you still need a switch on a curve.
Manufactured to the Atlas Code 55 standard: nickel-silver rail in scale-correct .055" height (matches real N gauge prototype rail), brown plastic ties, DCC-friendly construction (the frog is power-routing through the rails). Right-hand: the diverging route exits to the right of the through route. Pair with #2058 for a left-hand version, or combine with #2053/#2054 (#7) and #2055/#2056 (#10) for varied switch geometries on the same Code 55 layout.
How to use
- Use slip-on Atlas Code 55 rail joiners (#2090) to connect to flex track or other Code 55 sections.
- Throw manually with a ground throw (e.g. Caboose Industries 220S) or wire to an under-table machine (Atlas #65, Tortoise, etc.).
- Power-routing frog: the polarity of the frog follows the points, so don't run two locos through the frog from opposite directions during the same throw cycle.
- Minimum recommended radius for entering equipment: ~11" — the 15" inner radius is the working min through the diverging route.
- Compatible with all Atlas Code 55 turnouts and flex track; pair with #2058 (LH version) for double-track curved crossovers.
