Description
The Atlas #2056 is a Code 55 #2.5 wye (Y) turnout — both legs diverge at equal angles instead of one straight + one diverging. The #2.5 frog number gives a tight, compact geometry useful for symmetric branches off main yards, wye tracks for turning equipment, and reverse-loop trackage.
Manual-throw turnout with built-in spring detent. The Atlas Code 55 turnout family is the prototypically scaled N-scale switch system — .055" tall nickel-silver rail in brown ties, concealed joiners, and matched diverging-route geometry to Atlas's Code 55 curves. All routes are factory powered.
How to use
- Use to create a 3-leg wye for turning locomotives or whole trains end-for-end.
- Compact geometry — ideal where space is tight but you still need a symmetric divergence.
- Pair with #2057 (#3.5 wye) for slightly broader symmetric geometry where space allows.
- Throw manually or with under-table machine like Atlas #2065 or Tortoise.
- All routes electrically powered.
