Description

A No.10 frog is the gentlest of the standard Atlas N Code 55 turnouts — the diverging route opens at a 1-in-10 rate (~5.71°), giving prototypical mainline speeds through the divergence. Used by real railroads for high-speed crossovers and main-track junctions where passing trains shouldn't have to slow down. The #2055 is the right-hand version.

Built to Atlas Code 55 spec: nickel-silver rail in scale-correct .055" height with prototype-accurate rail profile, brown molded ties, DCC-friendly power-routing frog. Pair with #2054 (LH) for double-track crossovers. The gentler frog angle means the turnout is physically longer than a #7 — plan for that in your trackplan.

How to use

  • Connect with Atlas Code 55 rail joiners (#2090) to flex track and other Code 55 components.
  • Throw with a Caboose Industries 220S ground throw, or wire to an Atlas #65 under-table switch machine, Tortoise, or similar.
  • Best fit for: high-speed mainline crossovers, junctions where passenger or intermodal traffic shouldn't slow.
  • Power-routing frog: works with DCC out of the box, but insulate the frog rails downstream for full block control on both routes.
  • Pair with the #2054 (left-hand #10) for facing-point crossovers between parallel mainlines.
