Description
The Atlas #2030 is a specialty curve section sized to exactly match the diverging-route geometry of an Atlas Code 55 #5 turnout (30.609" radius). Use it after a turnout's diverging leg when you need a smooth, continuous-arc transition into the rest of a curved siding or yard ladder.
Sold in a 6-pack of #5-matched curve sections at 30.609" radius. Atlas Code 55 is the prototypically scaled N-scale track system, with .055" tall nickel-silver rail set in brown ties for a far more realistic appearance than Code 80. All rail joiners are concealed within the tie strip, giving smooth, hidden transitions between sections. Compatible with all modern N-scale equipment (Atlas, Kato, MicroTrains, current Bachmann, etc.); some older deep-flange stock may bind on Code 55 — check wheels first.
How to use
- Place immediately downstream of an Atlas Code 55 #5 turnout (#2051/#2052) to extend its diverging route without an awkward kink.
- Use in pairs to build crossovers between parallel tracks — the matched radius keeps the S-curve smooth.
- Joins to any Atlas Code 55 piece with concealed rail joiners.
- Avoid stacking back-to-back without a short straight in between for long rolling stock — a #2008 0.75" fitter helps.
- Pair with #2051 (RH) and #2052 (LH) #5 turnouts for full diverging-route layout work.
