Sealed 20' municipal waste containers took off in the late 20th century as a way to get garbage and hazardous waste off the highways and onto the rails. They're bigger than a standard roll-off dumpster and stack like intermodal boxes, and today they're mostly seen riding in long strings on articulated bulk carriers.
This Atlas Master Line HO six-pack is Environmental Protection & Improvement Co. (EPIU) in red, numbered EPIU 5068, 5093, 5111, 5156, 5178, 5205. Officially licensed by EPIC. Use them to change the load on your Atlas articulated bulk carriers, add more to the fleet, or fill out a busy rail-served transfer terminal.
