GE's U36B packed 3,600 horsepower onto a four-axle frame. Built from 1969 to 1974, it became famous hauling Auto-Train's vacation specials and Seaboard's fast Florida freights.
Seaboard System, the 1980s combination of the Family Lines roads, ran its U36Bs hard on fast freight across the Southeast. Atlas's Master Series HO model depicts SBD #5723.
