Description
The Rapido 751099 is an HO scale (1:87) GMC New Look "Fishbowl" Transit Bus in the Deluxe trim level — Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) livery (maroon & cream), bus #3900.
Prototype: The GMC New Look bus (often nicknamed the "Fishbowl" for its iconic wraparound curved windshield) was introduced in 1959 and produced through 1986 — the longest-lived North American transit bus design ever, with over 44,000 built. The TTC ran New Looks across Toronto in the iconic maroon-and-cream livery from the 1960s through 1990s. Multiple generations existed: the 2nd-generation (~1960s) and 4th-generation (~1970s+) rear engine doors are the most visually distinctive variants.
