Description

The Rapido 130125 is an HO scale 6-pack of USRA Double-Sheathed Boxcars in Toronto, Hamilton & Buffalo (TH&B) brown scheme.

Prototype: The USRA (United States Railroad Administration) 40-foot double-sheathed wood boxcar was one of the standardised car designs forced on US (and Canadian) railroads during World War I. The double-sheathed design has wood outer sheathing applied over wood inner sheathing on a steel frame — the older, heavier wood-side construction superseded by the single-sheathed steel-framed cars of the 1920s. TH&B was a Canadian shortline jointly owned by NYC and CP, operating between Toronto and Buffalo via Hamilton.
