Description

The Rapido 125017 is an HO scale Canadian Car & Foundry "Balloon Top" coach in the early VIA Rail blue-and-yellow scheme with the VIA-CN transition lettering (late 1970s) — car #5221.

Prototype: Canadian Car & Foundry built 50 "Balloon Top" day coaches for Canadian National in 1937 (CN 5180–5229), named for their distinctive raised roof profile. The cars were transferred to VIA Rail Canada in 1978, and the last one in service — 5186 — was retired in 1996.
