Description
The Micro Engineering 49-113 is a Small BrightBoy track-cleaning eraser block (2″ × 1″) — natural rubber bonded with abrasive grit, the original and still-most-used track cleaning tool in model railroading. Rub it along rail tops to remove oxidation, grime, oil film, and loco-wheel residue that causes flickering / dead spots / hesitation.
Sized for: HO and N scale (fits between rails and inside narrow track centres). The abrasive is fine enough not to scratch nickel-silver rail (over time), but coarse enough to break the oxide layer. Also works on locomotive wheels and electrical pickup contacts. Replace when worn smooth.
About Micro Engineering: Micro Engineering is the gold standard for prototypical fine-scale track among serious modellers — known for scale-size moulded ties / tie plates / spike heads, irregular tie spacing that matches real-railroad practice, and fine-scale code-correct rail.
