Description
The Micro Engineering 48-101 is a flush-cutting rail cutter sized for rail up to Code 100 — the standard pattern of by-pass micro-shear cutter (think Xuron 2175B) that leaves a clean square cut on nickel-silver and brass rail with no burr or pinch.
Use: Cut flex track to length, trim rail at turnout ends, drop in insulating gaps. The flush-cutter blades shear the rail rather than crushing it, so the cut end fits cleanly into the next joiner without filing.
About Micro Engineering: Micro Engineering is the gold standard for prototypical fine-scale track among serious modellers — known for scale-size moulded ties / tie plates / spike heads, irregular tie spacing that matches real-railroad practice, and fine-scale code-correct rail.
- Capacity: Up to Code 100 (covers all common HO and smaller scales)
- Cut type: Flush-cutting by-pass micro-shear
