Description
The KATO 20-222 is an N Unitrack #2 wye turnout — the Y-shaped turnout that splits one tangent track into two diverging routes of equal angle (both ~14° off the centerline). Built-in solenoid switch machine for remote operation.
Where wyes fit: Use a wye to fork a yard ladder into two parallel mainline tracks, to terminate a passing siding symmetrically, or to feed two equal-priority branches off a junction. The symmetric geometry is more space-efficient than a pair of regular turnouts.
KATO N Unitrack system: Code 80 nickel-silver rail molded into a factory-attached ballasted plastic roadbed, with integrated UniJoiners. Unitrack is KATO's flagship N-scale track system.
