Description
The KATO 20-220 (EP481-15L) is an N Unitrack #4 left-hand electric turnout with a built-in solenoid machine — a sharp-angle turnout (~14° diverging) ideal for tight yard ladders and industrial spurs where a #6 is too broad to fit.
About frog numbers: The number after a turnout designation (#4, #6, etc.) is the prototype frog number — the inverse of the diverging angle. Lower numbers are sharper (#4 = ~14° diverge, tight yard ladder); higher numbers are broader (#6 = ~9.5°, mainline). A #2 wye splits one track into two equal-angle diverging routes.
