The KATO 20-050 is an N Unitrack expansion track — a single section that telescopes between 78 mm and 108 mm (3′′ to 4-1/4′′) on a precision sliding mechanism, used to absorb thermal expansion in long Unitrack mainline runs or to fill awkward variable-length gaps in a track plan.
How it works: The sliding joint maintains electrical continuity and gauge across a 30 mm length swing — essential for portable or transportable layouts where benchwork expands and contracts with humidity changes.
