The KATO 20-042 is a 2-pack of N Unitrack double track 62 mm (2-7/16′′) sections with concrete ties — the shortest filler piece in the modern-mainline double-track family, used for crossover spacing and yard-throat alignment.
Double track Unitrack: A single roadbed piece carrying two parallel sets of rails at 33 mm prototype centres — the standard Japanese-prototype double-track centerline, also matching modern North American mainline practice. Drop in as one piece; faster and more rigid than two single tracks side-by-side.
KATO N Unitrack system: Code 80 nickel-silver rail molded into a factory-attached ballasted plastic roadbed, with integrated UniJoiners.
