Description
Genuine Kadee 2-56 x 3/8" zinc-plated steel machine screws — the most common fastener size in model railroading, in a longer length for deep installations. Kadee's fastener line is the workbench standard: consistent threads, clean heads, and a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance.
2-56 is the classic size for HO and O scale coupler mounting, truck screws, and general assembly; the 3/8" length reaches through thick floors, shim stacks, and deep draft gear boxes.
How to use
- Drill and tap the mounting hole with a matching 2-56 tap and drill set before installing
- Use 3/8" where the screw must pass through a car floor or a stack of height shims
- Pair with Kadee #1701 washers and #1700 nuts for untapped installations
