The Chooch 8608 Flexible Timber Retaining Wall (Small) is a realistically textured timber crib wall with .075" wide boards, sized for N and HO scale layouts. Timber retaining walls were the standard way railroads held back cuts and fills for a century, making them a must-have detail anywhere your track runs through uneven terrain.
Chooch's flexible wall material is the big advantage here: unlike rigid castings, this wall bends to follow curved track, rolling terrain and irregular scenery. It cuts easily with scissors or a hobby knife, and the peel-and-stick adhesive backing lets you press it directly into place — no plaster, no casting, no fuss. The molded wood-grain texture takes paints, stains and weathering washes beautifully.
How to use
- Line cuts, fills and embankments along the right-of-way
- Wrap around curves and irregular terrain — the wall flexes to fit
