Description
The 70-ton offset-side twin hopper was one of the most common open-top hoppers on North American railroads from the 1930s through the end of the twentieth century, hauling coal, coke, ore and aggregates. Its offset-side construction placed the side sheets outboard of the vertical posts, giving a smooth-sided interior and a distinctive ribbed exterior.
Bowser's HO 70-Ton Offset Hopper is a newly-tooled, ready-to-run model featuring improved AB brake detail, a die-cast metal frame for excellent weight and tracking, separately applied wire grab irons, and road-specific paint and lettering. It rides on RP25 nickel-silver wheels and is equipped with knuckle couplers.
