Center-beam flatcars are built for one job: moving bundled building materials. Using the same basic structure as a bulkhead flatcar, they add a full-length centre partition so loads of dimensional lumber, plywood and drywall can be strapped down from both sides and worked by forklift from either end. A fitting car for Northern Pacific's timber-country lines, and this run introduces Bachmann's new prototypical wrapped lumber load so the car can be run loaded or empty.
