Description
The Atlas 9195000 is a pair of HO scale 100-ton roller-bearing freight-car trucks — genuine Atlas replacement / upgrade trucks fitted with prototype 33′′ metal wheels and roller-bearing sideframes (the most common modern North American freight-car truck).
Prototype: 100-ton trucks (Barber, ASF, Buckeye, National C-1) have been the dominant freight-car truck since the 1960s, when AAR upgraded standard load limits from 70 to 100 short tons. Roller-bearing journals replaced friction (solid-bearing) journals on virtually all interchange equipment by the late 1990s.
Use: Drop-in replacement for tired trucks on older HO freight cars (Atlas, Athearn, Walthers, ExactRail). Standard Kadee-compatible mounting; 33′′ wheels in NMRA gauge.
