Description
The Atlas 839 is an HO Code 100 30-degree track crossing — a fixed-angle X-piece that lets two tracks intersect at a 30° angle without a turnout. Nickel-silver rail, brown plastic ties, integral Snap-Track joiners.
Prototype use: 30° crossings appear where industrial spurs cross mainlines, where two railroads share trackage rights at a diamond, or in classic yard throats. The shallow 30° angle minimizes wheel impact compared to perpendicular (90°) crossings.
Layout uses: Combine with 18′′ or 22′′ curves to build a figure-8 or to cross a branch line over a mainline. Atlas also offers 90° (#840-series) and 60° crossings for tighter geometry.
