Description
The Hart Selective Discharge ballast car was the standard 70-ton ballast hopper used by North American railroads from the early 20th century onward for distributing crushed stone, slag, and other ballast aggregate along the right-of-way. SOO Line maintained a sizable Hart ballast fleet for maintenance-of-way duties on its Midwest and prairie main lines.
This is Atlas's N scale Hart ballast car in SOO Line MOW yellow with billboard lettering as road number #60103.
