Description
The 1932 ARA box car was an American Railway Association steel-design standard that became the basis for thousands of pre-WWII 40-foot freight cars across North America. Canadian Pacific operated a roster of these durable single-sheathed steel boxcars well into the post-war era. Atlas's HO Master Series captures the prototype in 1:87 in CP's pre-1955 era markings, road number #225074.
Friction-bearing trucks, AccuMate® couplers, factory-applied detail with accurate painting and printing.
How to use
- Runs on any HO scale Code 83 or Code 100 track; minimum recommended radius 18".
- AccuMate couplers swap directly with Kadee #5/#148 if your roster runs all-Kadee.
- Era: pre-WWII through mid-1950s CP transition — perfect for steam-era and early-diesel CP scenes.
- Pair all three CP 1932 ARA road numbers (#225027, #225068, #225074) into a varied CP boxcar consist.
- Friction bearings indicate older roster equipment — keep with other pre-1965 cars for prototypical fidelity.
