Description
The Fairbanks-Morse H-24-66 Train Master was a six-axle road switcher that earned a loyal following on Canadian Pacific in the 1950s and '60s. Atlas’s Master Series captures the Phase 2 carbody — with its distinctive exhaust stack arrangement and rooftop details — in 1:87 HO scale, finished in CP’s classic Late Scheme block lettering as road number #8911.
This is the DC (analog) version, built DCC-ready with an 8-pin NMRA decoder socket under the shell, all-wheel electrical pickup, a five-pole skew-wound can motor with dual flywheels, and factory-applied wire grab irons, MU hoses, and windshield wipers.
How to use
- Runs on any HO scale Code 83 or Code 100 track (Atlas, PECO, etc.).
- Out of the box, operates on a standard DC power pack (0-12V).
- To convert to DCC, install any standard 8-pin (NEM 652) HO decoder — no hard-wiring required.
- Minimum recommended radius: 22″. Couplers are factory-mounted body-style with magnetic knuckles.
- Pair with Atlas Master Series freight cars or other CP-roster equipment for an authentic late-era CP consist.
