Choosing how to model Southern Pacific usually comes down to era: the Daylight-era steam and streamlined passenger equipment, or the later diesel fleet and the hoppers that ran behind it. Both are represented here, in HO and N scale, across locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars and decals.
Rapido leads the collection — the 29534 HO EMD E7B in Daylight paint, #5904, offered DC, DCC and sound. Broadway Limited Imports covers steam with the 9830 GS-4 4-8-4 #4439, deskirted and in partial Daylight paint. Bowser supplies 100-ton hoppers in both scales, HO #481145 and #481120 to the H-100-34 class and N #481140, #481138 and #481097. Atlas has the N scale C-630 in Silver DC and Gold DCC sound on road numbers #3147, #3151 and #3153.
Freight equipment is the other half of the collection, and the Bowser hoppers cover the same prototype in both scales, so an HO modeller and an N modeller can build the same train. For repaints and patched cars, Woodland Scenics DT609 Southern Pacific box car decals are here as well. A few items in the collection carry Amtrak, Panama Railroad or Canadian Pacific lettering. A number of these products are pre-order runs from Rapido, BLI, Bowser and Atlas, taken with a 25% deposit and the balance due when the run arrives.
