Decals are how a model train tells you what railroad it works for — the road name on a boxcar, the reporting marks on a hopper, the herald on a locomotive nose. Our Decals collection covers waterslide and dry-transfer decals for HO, N, O, OO and HOn3, anchored by Microscale Industries' industry-leading catalogue of more than 3,000 railroad-specific decal sets.
Canadian content runs deep: Microscale 60-1019 CN Steam Locomotives (1931-1960), 60-1033 CN Cabooses (1920-1961), 60-1073 CN SD70I Diesels (1997+), and 60-1131 CP Rail Diesel Nose Stripes (1969-1975) — all in N scale, with HO equivalents available on special order. US prototype highlights include the Pennsylvania Railroad Heavyweight Passenger Car Stripes (60-1142). Generic and detail decals include 60-1012 MOW Generic Markings, 60-1029 75' Center Beam Bulkhead Flat Car Markings, and 48-1527 O scale Yellow & Black Caution / Safety Striping.
Application: soak the decal in water for 15-30 seconds, slide off the backing, position on the model with a brush of Micro Set, then press down with Micro Sol to soften the decal over rivet detail. Seal with a clear coat (gloss for shiny finishes, satin or matte for weathered). Pair decals with Tru-Color Paint for the underlying paint scheme, Microscale Industries for the full catalogue, and Adhesives for Micro Set and Micro Sol. Ships from Oakville, Ontario. Free shipping on orders over $250.
