The locomotive is the centrepiece of any layout — and choosing the right one comes down to four questions: scale, era, roadname, and decoder. Our locomotive collection answers all four, with diesel, steam and electric prototypes in HO and N scale, in DC, DCC, and DCC/Sound-equipped versions.
We stock from the manufacturers serious modellers prefer: Rapido Trains (Canadian-prototype specialists), Atlas (Master and Trainman lines), Bachmann (Spectrum and standard), Bowser (Executive and Stewart), Kato (Japanese precision in HO and N), ScaleTrains, and Walthers Mainline / Proto. Sound-equipped models typically use ESU LokSound or factory-installed Tsunami decoders.
Canadian content is a deliberate focus. We carry Canadian Pacific (CP), Canadian National (CN), GO Transit, VIA Rail, Algoma Central, BC Rail and Ontario Northland — across modern diesels (SD70ACe, ES44AC, GP38-2, F59PH), classic first-generation diesels (FP9, RS-18, GP9, SD9), and steam (CP Royal Hudson, CN Mountain). For switching layouts, we keep DCC and DCC/Sound switchers like the SW9, SW1500 and GP15 in stock.
