Description
The Rapido 27613 is an HO scale EMD SW9 end-cab diesel switcher in Canadian National Post-1954 black scheme — road number #7003 — with factory-installed DCC and sound.
Prototype: The EMD SW9 is a 1200 hp end-cab diesel switcher built 1950–1953 (the immediate successor to the SW7, with upgraded electrical and detail changes). CN's SW9 fleet, numbered 7000-series, served the system as yard switchers and short-line locals through the 1970s. The Post-1954 black scheme is CN's basic in-house paint job after the 1954 livery rationalisation — black with yellow markings and the early CN "map maple-leaf" emblem.
