Description
The Rapido 146042 is an HO scale 3-car set of GO Transit / Metrolinx BiLevel commuter coaches — set #3 with Coaches #2413, #2437, #2454 (no cab car).
Prototype: The BiLevel commuter coach was developed by Hawker-Siddeley Canada in 1976 for GO Transit (Greater Toronto Area), then mass-produced by Bombardier through the 1990s–2010s. GO Transit is now part of Metrolinx (MX), the Ontario provincial transit agency. The BiLevel design (two passenger levels with a centre vestibule) became the North American standard commuter coach and is also used by Sounder Seattle, AMT Montreal, and many US commuter agencies. Cab cars have a full control stand at one end for push-pull operation; coaches are pure trailers.
